By Me

A funeral service – there are no real rules with funerals, just guidelines, so you can be as creative as you want to be, to express the individuality of your loved one.

Have you thought about… music, venue, timing, who will be involved, the technology, memorabilia, catering, lifestory or eulogy? I work with funeral homes to prepare an individualised ceremony.

Here’s an idea of what I do for families and friends…

  • A visit to your home [or agreed meeting spot]
  • An hour’s discussion and planning meeting
  • Write the eulogy / lifestory
  • Prepare the words for the service
  • Phone or email all service participants
  • Communication with funeral home
  • Facilitate the ceremony

Other services I offer include…

Memorial service – when the physical body is not present, but you still need to gather and remember. Timing is yours… the venue is yours… the details are yours… I can assist family and friends create a special event to helping grieve the loss and celebrate the life!

Scattering of the ashes – you’ve got the box of ashes… it may have been around for a while. Let me help you prepare an appropriate ceremony to finish saying goodbye.

Pet farewells– often pets are our closest companions and when they pass the grief is just as profound. I guide you in preparing a service that helps you say farewell, easing the pain and loss inside.

Naming ceremonies – giving a name to someone or something can set the course of their life. I assist families in creating a ceremony that fits the occasion, lays a foundation for the future!

Preparing a lifestory or eulogy – stuck for ideas or just can’t seem to add fluency to your reflection of your loved ones life? I write lifestory almost every day and can prepare 600-800 words covering someone’s life or edit and refine your words.
